The statue of Liberty is said to have been designed by a young French sculptor named Frédéric-Auguste Bartholdi. The face of the statue was said to have been modeled after the mother of this young sculptor and the body was said to have been modeled after a prostitute. The crown of the Statue of Liberty has seven spikes to it. These seven spikes symbolizes the seven seas where Liberty should be spread. The tablet that the statue is holding on her left hand is the Declaration of Independence and on her right hand is a torch that symbolizes Enlightenment.
